Who We Are
The museum shares the rich and complex Jewish history in the Caribbean, with Curaçao at its center. The Jewish Museum Curaçao celebrates the island’s nearly four centuries of Jewish faith and culture. We serve as a place of memory, connection, and living heritage—welcoming both locals and visitors who wish to learn about the Jewish experience in the Caribbean.
“Our past is alive here—not behind glass, but through stories, spaces, and people.”

Our Commitment

Preserving Heritage, Inspiring Future Generations
The Jewish Museum Curaçao preserves, presents, and honors the rich cultural and historical legacy of the Jewish community on the island. We are proud to be part of the Jewish heritage sites in Curaçao, which are actively preserved and presented to the public. Through storytelling, exhibitions, and education, we engage visitors with the values and voices that have shaped Jewish life in Curaçao—both past and present. We contribute to Curaçao’s cultural heritage programs and public memory through our exhibitions and educational efforts.
Our vision is to be a living museum: a vibrant space where history inspires reflection, dialogue, and pride. We aim to be a trusted cultural resource for locals, tourists, educators, and researchers.

The Jewish Museum Experience
Our museum is part of the historic Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue complex in Willemstad. It features interactive exhibits, curated collections, and restored 17th-century buildings that bring Curaçao’s Jewish story to life. This is a key Jewish history museum in the Caribbean, valued by both scholars and visitors.
