Hillel International Visits Jewish Museum Curaçao

A visit that bridged generations and continents.

Thanks to a three-year collaboration with PSU Hillel, the Jewish Museum Curaçao now welcomes student service groups through Hillel International. These visits include hands-on museum work, cultural exchanges, and reflections on Jewish identity in a Caribbean context. The groups explored the museum’s exhibits, walked through the historic Snoa, and engaged in discussions about identity, resilience, and Jewish life in the Caribbean. For many, it was their first encounter with Sephardic traditions, and the experience left a lasting impression.

“This was the highlight of our trip—it showed us how wide and beautiful the Jewish world is.”

The Jewish Museum Curaçao has joined forces with Edu-Travel, who organize the logistics of the trips, and Hillel International, who will make travel arrangements, to create a film to promote these service trips to learn about the Curaçao Jewish community, help maintain the cemeteries, do service work for the greater island community, as well as have fun under the sun.
